Rachael Nelson, LLP

Rachael Nelson is a Limited Licensed Psychologist and the founder of Clarity Behavioral Health and Assessment Center. Rachael holds two master’s degrees in biology and psychology from Northern Michigan University. She specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals, particularly those navigating ADHD, ASD, and executive functioning challenges. With a background in both therapy and psychological assessment, Rachael focuses on providing clear, compassionate support to help clients better understand themselves and move forward with confidence.

In her free time, Rachael enjoys teaching adjunct courses in psychological ethics and cognition at Northern Michigan University and serving as a handler for Hugo, Clarity’s certified therapy dog.

Helen Kahn, Ph.D., LP

Dr. Helen Kahn is a Licensed Psychologist with nearly two decades of experience supporting clients in the Marquette area. She brings warmth and insight to her work, grounded in a strong background of both cognitive and clinical psychology.

Dr. Kahn earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of North Dakota and later completed a clinical re-specialization in 2007. Dr. Kahn is passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, life transitions, and cognitive challenges related to memory and focus.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kahn spent over 20 years as a professor in the School of Clinical Sciences at Northern Michigan University. Here she was known for her thoughtful mentorship and clear teaching style.

At Clarity Behavioral Health, Dr. Kahn continues to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care with respect for each client’s goals and values. Dr. Kahn offers brief, goal oriented, therapy sessions to individuals (ages 16+) and families.

Naima Hasan-Jones, LMSW

Naima Hasan-Jones, LMSW, CAADC, CCS, is a licensed master’s level social worker with extensive clinical experience. Naima has diverse expertise as a therapist and clinical supervisor, which informs her approach to care. Naima’s social work background empowers her to address all the intersections that may be affecting you as an individual. Currently, Naima has the capacity to support individuals ages 16+. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life changes/transitions, and recovery, Naima may be the right fit for you.

Hannah Brown, LLMSW

Hannah has experience supporting children, adolescents and adults experiencing ADHD, trauma, depression, and anxiety. She enjoys helping clients learn how to have a healthy relationship with their mind by using person-centered treatment planning focusing on an individual's unique goals, strengths, and preferences.

Hannah sees clients ages 6+. She provides in person sessions and therapy through secure telehealth sessions, providing flexibility and convenience for her clients.

Anjelica Thorne, LLMSW

Anjelica has experience working with pre-teens, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and life changes. Anjelica is certified in trauma care and prioritizes your safety, choice, and empowerment, in every session. She specializes in using proven approaches designed to reduce re‑traumatization while promoting real progress at a pace that feels safe for you.

Anjelica sees clients ages 12 and older. She offers in-person sessions in Marquette, Michigan, as well as secure telehealth services throughout the state of Michigan.

Grace Rieger, MSW Intern

Grace received her Bachelor of Science in pre-clinical psychology with minors in gender studies and plant-based wellness from Northern Michigan University. She is continuing her education at NMU as a first-year MSW candidate. Grace is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor who specializes in body-informed yoga that supports accessibility and restoration. She is pursuing her LMSW license as she is deeply passionate about supporting individuals at a personal and systemic level. Advocacy is at the heart of her practice, and she is looking forward to beginning her practice as a clinician in a community that she cares so deeply about!

Jeff Nelson, Co-Owner and Office Manager

Jeff serves as Clarity Behavioral Health’s office manager, bringing a strong background in science and organization to his role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and has several years experience in healthcare management. Jeff manages the administrative operations at Clarity, assisting with client care coordination, clinician support, scheduling, and behind-the-scenes office logistics. His attention to detail, reliability, and steady presence help ensure the practice runs efficiently and clients receive seamless, high-quality care.

Hugo, Therapy Dog

Hugo is Clarity Behavioral Health’s certified therapy dog through Pet Partners. As a beloved member of the team, Hugo brings warmth and comfort to clients during sessions, helping create a calm and welcoming environment. Outside of the office, he volunteers in the community as an NMU Wildpup, spreading joy and support to students and staff on campus. His gentle nature and friendly personality make him a favorite among clients of all ages.
